Strong commitment, proven techniques, and the best materials allows us to offer an industry leading 2 year warranty on rewinds!  We are experienced in water and wastewater utilities, heavy industrials, light industrials, commercial buildings,  high rise condominiums, agricultural and domestic irrigation, and others.

The lessons learned from each job are used to enhance our abilities in the next.  We enjoy problem solving.  Send us your biggest problem, and watch us solve it for you.

A/C Motor Rewinds:  Whether they are small or large, rewinding A/C electric motors (and rotors) is more than just a service, it is a craft.   Highly skilled craftsmen are absolutely vital to every step of the rewind process.   At EMS, we have worked hard over many years to refine the art of rewinding electric motors.   The result of our extensive experience and research is unparalleled quality, which allows us to offer our customers a 2-Year Warranty on motor rewinds up to 600VAC.   That's right... Two Full Years!

At EMS, we know that it is one thing to talk about quality, and it is quite another to back it up.   So, while our competition has kept themselves very busy talking about quality, EMS has been quietly busy delivering quality.   It's a big difference in business philosophy, and one that our customers appreciate.

All of EMS's superior rewinds are composed of three things.  Materials, Technique, and Commitment.

Materials make up the first ingredient.  The materials we use are the best that are commercially available.   EMS has standardized on a Class 180 (Class H) temperature rated insulation system for all our rewinds.   Most of our competitors use Class 155 insulation or lower, sometimes, much lower.   The higher Class 180 rating means that our rewinds will withstand higher temperatures... up to 180 degrees Celsius.

We also use magnet wire which has been rated for Inverter Duty.  It will withstand more punishment and stress than standard magnet wire, and is designed to minimize the effect of electrical spikes that are inherent in variable frequency drives.

We continue by installing insulation materials which are all rated Class 180.  These are materials you may never see, but they are indispensable parts of our insulation system.   For example, our slot insulation, coil separators, top wedges, and lead wire are all constructed of Class 180 materials.

All rewinds are preheated, dipped, and baked in a Class 180 electrical insulation varnish a minimum of two times or more, depending upon application.

At EMS, use of inferior materials to save money is NOT an option.  We have learned that utilizing superior materials is the best way to save our customers money, long term.   It's easy to see... Superior Materials = Superior Rewinds.

Technique is the second ingredient of a superior EMS rewind.   Our rewinds require more than simply the best materials.   An EMS rewind is the best because of the proven techniques we use in conjunction with our materials.   Our formula is simple... superior techniques combined with superior materials produce superior rewinds.   Our techniques are the result of decades of refining rewind procedures.    Every step in the rewind process has been carefully examined and refined over the years to produce the highest quality  electric motor rewinds.   As if that were not enough, each rewind is then put through a rigorous testing procedure that insures it will last in the field.

Commitment is the third ingredient of an EMS  electric motor rewind.   An EMS Electric Motor Winder is by definition a skilled craftsman who possesses years of experience in the field.   We are self-motivated individuals dedicated to quality.   It is the commitment of the winder that takes the materials, utilizes the techniques, adds their years of experience, and creates the superior EMS winding.

All of the above allows our rewinds to keep running long after normal rewinds have failed, which translates into more uptime and less downtime.

D/C Motor Winding & Repair:  Everything that has been said about the craftsmanship involved in rewinding A/C electric motors applies to D/C electric motor  rewinds as well.   The difference is that D/C motor rewinds require even more skill and training on the part of the winder.

From random-wound to form-wound, rewinding D/C motor armatures and field coils is craftsmanship at its highest level.   Highly skilled craftsmen are absolutely vital to every step of the rewind process.   At EMS, we have worked hard over many years to refine the art of rewinding D/C electric motors.   The result of our extensive research and development is the unparalleled quality which separates an EMS rewind from all others.

We also carefully inspect the commutator mechanically and electrically, performing bar-to-bar and other testing.   We utilize a lathe to turn and undercut the commutator to provide a smooth surface for the brushes.   As if that were not enough, each rewind is then put through a rigorous testing procedure that insures it will last in the field.

BLOWER REPAIR:  Centrifugal and positive displacement blowers can be found in many wastewater treatment plants.   They  supply air in different phases of the treatment process.   These blowers are precision pieces of equipment, manufactured to very close tolerances.

It is vital that they be installed, aligned, and maintained properly, in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. When they go in for repair, care must be taken in every step of the process.   These pieces of equipment should only be repaired & rebuilt by professionals who are experienced in working on them.

At EMS, we have been servicing & rebuilding blower equipment for many years.   Our experienced technicians are well familiar with how they function, what the repair issues are, and how to repair them.

When you absolutely, positively need air in your plant, call the people who can help you. Call EMS.

CONTROLS:  "Power Electronics" is a term we use to identify the electronic equipment utilized in controlling electric motors, pumps, generators, and other industrial process equipment.   Everywhere you look, power electronics are in use.   Water/wastewater facilities, high-rise domestic water booster pump systems, stand-by generators & transfer panels, golf course & grove irrigation systems, and all conceivable types of manufacturing equipment.

This type of equipment is not something you would entrust to your "garden-variety" motor shop.   Far more experience and expertise is required.   This is where EMS can help.

For decades... long before power electronics became popular and in such wide usage, EMS has been servicing this type of equipment.   The ability to diagnose and repair electronic controllers is a service we have been engaged in since the 1960's.   We have skilled electronic technicians that can assist you with whatever electronics problem you may be experiencing.

MACHINE SHOP:  A well-equipped machine shop, with an experienced machinist, is an integral part of our service center.   We firmly believe that the ability to do our own machine work is vital to our goal of providing our customers with the best possible service.   By maintaining our own in-house machine shop, we control the quality of the machine work, as well as the scheduling.   Both are important to your needs.

With EMS controlling the quality, our customers are assured of receiving machine work that is performed according to the proper tolerances and specifications.   We provide our customers with the "peace of mind" in knowing that we have overseen every step of the machining process.   Every weld, every fit, every machined part must pass our inspection.   At EMS, no shortcuts are allowed.

Also, with EMS controlling the scheduling, our customers are assured of receiving their equipment on-time.   We are not at the mercy of some outside company's work schedule.   If we give you a delivery date for your equipment, we alone are responsible for meeting that commitment.

Finally, providing quality EMS machine work depends upon having excellent EMS machinists.   Our machinists are all highly skilled and experienced.   By their very nature, they are perfectionists and critical of their work.   They are precise and patient, and we are proud that they are on the EMS team.

GEAR PRODUCTS:  There are times when that electric motor just spins too fast, and does not have enough torque to do what needs to be done.   This type of application calls for a gear-reduction device.   Gear reduction devices are in wide usage in almost every industrial, commercial, and municipal facility.

From the simplest C-Flange mounted worm gear reducers to the most complex stand-alone gearboxes, EMS has the expertise and experience to repair and rebuild them.   We dismantle them, making comprehensive notations as we proceed.  We clean all the parts, and inspect all tolerances & fits.   Upon assembly, pre-loading is performed on the shafts and bearings where it is required.   The end result is a smooth-running gearbox that provides you with long-lasting service.

Whatever your current need, repair or replacement, you can count on EMS to assist you.   We have decades of experience in repairing gear reduction equipment both small and very large.   We can also furnish you with a new "gearbox" when the need arises.

Why take any chances with your gear reducer?   Call EMS today, and let us help you get that gearbox back up& running... however slowly that may be!

GENERATORS - NEW & REPAIR:  Stand-by power generators are an important part of any building or complex that relies on electricity to drive the fire pumps that provide protection in case of a fire.   The generator supplies electricity to the fire pumps in case the power fails.   Generators can also provide emergency lighting and perform other functions in case of a power failure.   In an emergency, you need to know with certainty that your stand-by generator is going to work.

Many factories use generators to create a "clean" source of electrical power for portions of their manufacturing operations.   If the generator fails, that part of the manufacturing process stops.

Therefore, it only makes good sense for you to keep your stand-by generators in good operating condition.   This usually involves a scheduled program of inspection and maintenance to verify that the generator, transfer panel, and related controls are functioning properly.

Your EMS Sales Representative will be glad to sit down with you and tailor a inspection & maintenance program that suits your needs.   EMS helped to pioneer "generator service agreements" many years ago, and we have been refining them ever since.

Further, EMS has skilled technicians experienced in all aspects of generator maintenance and repair.   Whether it is a scheduled maintenance, or an emergency service call, we can help to insure that when your generator is needed, it will perform as it should.

Welders perform an entirely different function than stand-by generators, but they share some common traits.   They both generate electricity, they both have rotating and stationary fields, and their construction is similar.   Repairing a welder is similar to repairing a generator, and that is why we included them on this page.

If your welder is not striking an arc like it should, give EMS a call.   We'll get your welder up and running.

Field Services - Installation & Repair:  OK, so here you are...  you have a ___________ system (fill in the blank) that needs repair.   Or, you have a _______________ (again, fill in the blank) that needs to be installed.   You may actually have someone on-site who can do the work for you, but he is overloaded.   Face it...you are short-handed, and you have more tasks than technicians.   You need to get the work done, but you've been waiting for the "right moment."

Why wait any longer?   Call EMS and get the job done right!   If you need onsite work done, you can rest assured that our technicians will perform the work according to your specifications, and adhere to your company's policies regarding safety and security.

Whether the project takes a day or a month, you can rely on EMS to satisfy your requirements.   Just as if they were part of your own in-house team.

I&C - New & Repairs:  Instrumentation and controls are the heart of any motor/pump/generator system, regardless of whether they are for A/C or D/C equipment.   These devices tell the equipment what to do, when to do it, and monitor, display, or record that it is being done.

It is vital that your instrumentation and controls operate properly.   When the controls are not operating properly, your system is compromised, the equipment malfunctions, and human safety might be at risk.   All of this is unacceptable to you, but what should you do?

Simply pick up the phone and call EMS.   We know instrumentation and controls.   We are the experts at troubleshooting and repairing all kinds of A/C & D/C controls.   The photo on the left shows an old control panel, then the same panel rebuilt and upgraded with a Variable Frequency Drive.

From basic variable frequency drives to complex process and analytical instrumentation, we are familiar with them all.

EMS is fortunate to have some of the most talented and highly-skilled technicians in the state of Florida, and they are at your service.   Whatever your problems might be, we can solve them for you.   Don't be left wondering what to do when your controls start acting up.   Instead, give us a call!

New Instrumentation & Controls:  VFD's, data loggers, SCADA, telemetry, artificial intelligence, process control, process monitoring, etc., etc....   You already know you will save money and operate more efficiently by utilizing some of the new technology that's available.   You have done the research, and you know you will benefit.   But how do you take advantage of this new technology?   What's right for your needs?   Where do you begin?

You begin with a phone call to EMS.   Your EMS Sales Representative will set up an appointment to learn about your needs, evaluate the options available, and recommend the right solution for you.

This may sound simple, and in some cases it is.   However, in other cases, it can be extremely complex and require extensive planning and research.   That's why you need a company such as EMS, who has the knowledge and experience to assist you in designing and installing the right instrumentation & controls for your project.

Simple or complex, A/C or D/C, EMS has the resources and experience to supply you with the right solution for your needs.

Oh, and one other thing...  you will find out that with some companies, if your project is small, their responsiveness will be, too.   You will be pleased to note that EMS does not do business that way.   Every project receives the same care and attention.   It is not only fair, it is good business.
